Jason + Hannah are having a baby! And she is going to be such a lucky girl, having two parents who are totally crazy in love. We got to sneak in this maternity session at Baumann Park in Cherry Valley, IL right after an early May wedding. Following a week of heavy rain we somehow managed to get the only perfectly sunny, warm evening! (And the prettiest sunset!)
These parents-to-be decided to name their little girl Elsie Jo- Elsie after a favorite book character and Hannah’s aunt, Jo after Jason’s mom and it’s that kind of adorable, nose crinkling cuteness that totally makes up their little family. Elsie will be the perfect fit.
What really made this session so sweet was their total trust in my vision at every step of the way. Clients that leave location, time, and look in my hands always get my very best work. When they communicate what they’re planning on wearing and share their excitement with me and their own style is super clear, I can more easily create a shoot that fits THEM. For this particular session, I spent well over 4 hours scouting locations because from the conversations we had, the pictures Hannah sent of outfits, and what I knew of her personal style (from shamelessly stalking her on Instagram!) I knew that I wanted to find a spot for them near water with cozy trees and lots of bright sun streaming in- something that visually looks like a little springtime nest around them. Baumann Park had it all and I really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day with the sweetest couple.
Can’t wait to meet Miss Elsie any day now! She’s so loved by so many people already and Jason + Hannah are going to be the sweetest parents.
